Welcome to the See-Well Railway Speeder Page!
Below can be found photos and information about the Speeder in-use on the See-Well Railway.

Now this is the Speeder.
All it is, is just a basic box built to go over the batteries and control box on "Herbie".
Made from bits of materials that I found lying around home, the aim was to create something that I can ride on.
And this is the result!

This is Me riding the speeder at the local private track. This is where the trials were done.
To compliment the new Speeder, a new extended Hand-held controller was made up.This makes riding the speeder a much more pleasant experience.
Before this new extended one came into use, one would have to hold the controller behind them, which was not very comfortable.
The headlight idea is basically the same as used on the NZR Eb body, except a hole has been drilled in the flat steel, and another in the wooden top.
To mount the headlight, all you have to do is remove the magnets from the flat steel and insert the nail through the hole and through the wooden top. Then the light is mounted on the normal way to give this result:

This is the result of the headlight mounting.A good clear beam of light is projected to light the track ahead for around 6-8 metres in-front of the loco.
Below can be seen the locators which fit beside the suspension mounts to locate the speeder body on the chassis.

The locators are clearly seen. They sit beside the spring-mounts, and keep the body reasonably still.
Again, these locators are made from bits of wood found lying around home.
Just a final note: This body cost $0 to build, as everything has been found at home.Even the nails, screws and paint!
